Fresh off of their 2017 Super Bowl victory, the Philadelphia Eagles have already turned their attention to next season. We don't have long to wait until the draft and free agency comes around, two events that will shape the Eagles and their roster for 2018. Their focus will be to keep as many core players as possible, and should they be able to do that, could they win another Super Bowl and record back to back titles?
Betting is already out for the 2018 season, the Patriots are favorites to win the title, but close in behind are the Eagles, with a wave of other teams nearby. At odds of +900 right now, many will think the Eagles offer value in a wide open field, and they are a popular early pick. There are a number of free bet offers available now at Timeform, including one from BetVictor who are already taking wagers on who will lift the Lombardi Trophy next time around.
The interesting part of this offseason in Philadelphia is certainly going to be their quarterback situation. Their backup, Nick Foles, has just won a Super Bowl and will be moving out to get a starting job somewhere else. He deserves this for sure, but he will have to be traded away for this to happen, as he is under contract for another year with the Eagles.

However, as all Eagles fans know, losing Foles would not be a big deal when their number one quarterback Carson Wentz returns. Before an injury in week 14, Wentz had been sublime for the Eagles, and led them to the top of the NFC. He is still only young, but some of the plays he was calling on the field were from a man with a vastly experienced head on his shoulder. When Wentz went down, the Eagles thought their season was over, and that is no dig at Nick Foles, simply a nod to how good Wentz had been for them during 2017.
While the Eagles won't take their Super Bowl-winning quarterback Nick Foles into next season with them, the hope is that Wentz can continue his good play, and if he does the Eagles will again fancy their chances of winning the Lombardi. Many doubted Wentz during his rookie year, but the signs of maturity he showed in 2017 have shown us all just how far his game has come. Any further improvement from Wentz and the Eagles look as though they have a genuine top-end quarterback to lead them into battle.
Winning back to back Super Bowl titles is hard, even more so when you lose the quarterback who won the game for you. However, the Eagles are in a very fortunate position when it comes to quarterbacks, and going into 2018 they will quietly fancy themselves to repeat what has just happened. There won't be many out there doubting them, and they look sure to be a dangerous team once again next season.
