NFL Week 15 Early Weekend Special Teaser
It's Week 15 in the NFL and the first week fans can enjoy Saturday games. The two Saturday games are divisional matchups, with Thursday night's game looking like a total stinker with the Broncos visiting the Colts. Saturday's lineup could provide us some drama with the Lions needing a win to stay in the playoff race. The night game in Kansas City has a lot of meaning with the Chiefs and Chargers neck-and-neck atop the AFC South standings.
My bookie hates me for it, but I love putting together a three-team football teaser for these early games, and this week will be no different. Let's take a closer look at the three games and how I'm going in my teaser.
Denver (4-9) at Indianapolis (3-10) | Thursday, Dec. 14, 8:25 PM ET | NBC, NFLN
The week kicks off with two teams out of the playoff race when the Colts host the Broncos. Top online sportsbook currently have the Broncos a 2.5-point road dog with the total at 40.5.
Both of these teams have looked terrible at times this season, evidenced by an eight game losing streak that Denver broke last week with a 23-0 victory over the Jets. The Broncos D looked like we all thought they should last Sunday, holding the Jets to 100 yards of total offense (41 passing, 59 rushing).
Surprisingly, the Colts hold a decided advantage in the last 10 games these two have played with an 8-2 SU record and 9-1 ATS. As well, the total has gone OVER in 8 of those 10 games.

Chicago (4-9) at Detroit (7-6) | Saturday, Dec. 16, 4:30 PM ET | NFLN
This is the second meeting between these two NFC North rivals, with the Lions getting the better of the Bears in Week 11 27-24. But don't sleep on the Bears, who have seen the maturation of QB Mitch Trubisky the past few weeks, helping his team to a 33-7 beat down of the Bengals in Cincy this past Sunday.
NFL Sportsbooks currently have the Lions a 5.5-point home favorite with the total set at 44. The Bears are now 7-5-1 ATS on the season with the Lions at 6-6-1. I expect this one to be closer than most expect.
LA Chargers (7-6) at Kansas City (7-6) | Saturday, Dec. 16, 8:25 PM ET | NFLN
This one is definitely the best early game in Week 15. These two share the same record, with the Chiefs having the leg up over the Chargers based on head-to-head win percentage with a Week 3 win. That Chief win was part of the 5-game winning streak they had to start the season, however, they went on the lose 6 of their next seven games.
The Chiefs did get back on track last week with a 26-15 win over the Raiders last week, but the Chargers are among the hottest teams in the league having won seven of their last 9, including a current four-game winning streak.
A look back at the last 10 games when these rivals meet show the Chiefs with a 7-3 record SU and 6-4 ATS. The total has been split at 5-5. Sportsbook currently have the Chargers a slight road favorite at -1, with the total at 46.
The Pick
Games between division rivals and lower tier teams alike are tough to handicap, which is why I am going the seven-point special teaser route. I'm going to start by taking the UNDER in the Broncos/Colts game, getting the line moved from 40.5 to 50.5. In the opening Saturday affair, I love the Bears to keep this one close, and the 10 we're getting takes the Bears from +5.5 to +15.5. Last, but certainly not least, I'm taking the Chargers at +9. Good luck and enjoy the Saturday games this week.
